Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Pogonichthyinae
Max. size:  7.1 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  North America: found in the Brazos River drainage, Texas, USA. Apparently introduced to adjacent Colorado River drainage, Texas.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabis sandy, turbid channels of small to large rivers (Ref. 5723). They feed on insects, primarily dipterans, terrestrial insects, detritus, and plant material (Ref. 79012).
