Family:  Apogonidae (Cardinalfishes), subfamily: Apogoninae
Max. size:  10.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 3 - 30 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: southern Florida in USA and Bahamas to southern Brazil (Ref. 51893).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits coral and rocky areas from 3-30 m, but possibly much deeper.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 10 March 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
