Family:  Pentanchidae (Deepwater catsharks)
Max. size:  53.8 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 1014 - 1800 m
Distribution:  Northeast Atlantic: Iceland and France.
Diagnosis:  Body slender and cylindrical. Dermal denticles from dorsolateral side of body small and erect.
Biology:  Oviparous (Ref. 50449).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 30 June 2023 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
