Family:  Centrophoridae (Gulper sharks)
Max. size:  89 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range 20 - 732 m
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: southeastern Honshu, Japan. Eastern Central Pacific: French Polynesia and Hawaiian Islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A little-known gulper shark of the insular slopes. Apparently rare. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 50449).
IUCN Red List Status: Endangered (EN); Date assessed: 28 August 2019 (A2d) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
