Family:  Mugilidae (Mullets)
Max. size:  22 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic-neritic; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Revillagigedo Islands and Mexico to Panama.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabit rocky littoral zones. Feed on algae that grows on rocks by scraping it off with its specialized teeth. Oviparous, eggs are pelagic and non-adhesive (Ref. 205). Probably caught incidentally with other mullets. May be found in Panama markets.
