Distribution:  South America: Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-9; Anal soft rays: 5-6; Vertebrae: 33-35
Biology:  This species inhabits streams with fast-flowing, transparent to slightly dark waters, lined with substrate composed of medium to large sized stones or rocks (Ref. 138489).
