Max. size:  17.1 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 26.5 g
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 1 - 28 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea, Suez Canal. Lessepsian migrant to Mediterranean Sea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 99-101; Anal soft rays: 78-79
Biology:  Not recorded from a depth of more than 135 m (Ref. 5297).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 14 August 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
