Family:  Elassomatidae (Pygmy sunfishes)
Max. size:  3.4 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Edisto and Savannah River drainages in South Carolina, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits heavily vegetated creeks, sloughs and roadside ditches. Oviparous, eggs are deposited in aquatic vegetation (Ref. 58020).
IUCN Red List Status: Vulnerable (VU); Date assessed: 29 November 2011 (D2) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
