Family:  Percidae (Perches), subfamily: Etheostomatinae
Max. size:  6 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: middle Cumberland River drainage in Tennessee and Kentucky, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Usually found in small to medium streams in gravel riffle areas (Ref. 6466). Eggs are found attached to the substrate unguarded (Ref. 7043).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 26 March 2012 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
