Max. size:  27 cm TL (male/unsexed); 30 cm TL (female)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 200 - 1000 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: Texas to Florida (USA), northern Gulf of Mexico, and Mexico.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found on the upper continental slopes. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 21 June 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
