Max. size:  4.07 cm TL (female)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 362 - 610 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: Australia.
Diagnosis:  This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: hook-like denticles; dorsal fins covered with denticles (except in juveniles); origin of the flank-marking base well anterior to the second dorsal-fin origin; underside of snout with a reversed ‘W’-shaped naked area; length of the ventral portion of caudal-base marking much longer than its width; and caudal-base marking 9.5%-10.0% TL, with tip tapering (Ref. 138111).
