Family:  Antennariidae (Frogfishes)
Max. size:  9.4 cm SL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 57.2 g
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 20 - 275 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: off Long Island, New York to the Florida Keys (USA) and throughout the Gulf of Mexico. Two large adults have been reported from Madeira in the eastern Atlantic.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits offshore banks and deeper shelf waters (Ref. 7251).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 29 January 2013 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
