Family:  Congridae (Conger and garden eels), subfamily: Congrinae
Max. size:  37 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic: False Bay to Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. Also at Tristan da Cunha Island.
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 128-135. Olive brown dorsally, silvery on head, lighter ventrally. Dusky margin on median fins.
Biology:  Found in about 100 m depth.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 20 January 2017 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
