Body with broad black bands (Ref. 48635).
Description: Characterized by whitish to pale yellow color; with distinctive pattern of 12-14 dark brown to blackish bars, narrower than pale interspaces; ventral surface of head with elongate blackish streak; head densely covered with small dark spots; less dense spots on upper half of trunk and tail in pale spaces between dark bars; body depth at gill opening about 14-22 in TL; origin of dorsal fin is closer to gill opening than corner of mouth; anus anterior to middle of body; serrated jaw teeth in large specimens (Ref. 90102). |
