Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
Max. size:  17.8 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range 3 - 3 m
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Nabugabo.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  More abundant in offshore, open areas than in other regions. Possibly pelagic over mud bottoms in the middle of the lake (Ref. 4983). Is predominantly piscivorous although insects (esp. adult Ephemeroptera) are also eaten (Ref. 558).
