Environment:  benthopelagic; marine
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Japan and the South China Sea.
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 109-109
Biology:  Specimens collected in a pool surrounded by coral heads with fine sandy bottom. Apparently spawns in the summer (Ref. 41416).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 13 November 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
