Family:  Melamphaidae (Bigscale fishes or ridgeheads)
Max. size:  8.6 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range 200 - 500 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific; absent in the waters of Indonesia and the western part of the Pacific Ocean.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults can be found at depths below 200 meters; juveniles taken at depth of 150 meters (Ref. 51657).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 30 December 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
