Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Pogonichthyinae
Max. size:  7.1 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Alabama River drainage in Alabama, USA. Restricted to Cahaba River, Uphapee Creek (Tallapoosa River system) and Alabama River in Dallas and Wilcox counties.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit gravelly runs, often near riffles, of small to large rivers. Migratory behaviour is undetermined (Ref. 126106).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 31 July 2012 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
