| Diagnosis: | Similar to Nannostomus beckfordi but it can be distinguished by having a more elongated body, body depth 4.66-5.35 times in SL (vs. 4.3-5.0 times in SL), head length 4.46 [4.39-4.50] vs. 3. 8 [3.5 to 4.0] times in SL, larger body size, maximum length 46.2 mm SL (vs. max. 35.0 mm SL), and completely different coloration in life (e.g. ventral-fins colorless in Nannostomus grandis vs. with milky white tips in Nannostomus beckfordi) (Ref. 88928). | |||
