Family:  Rivulidae (Rivulines), subfamily: Rivulinae
Max. size:  4.63 cm SL (male/unsexed); 3.38 cm SL (female)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Miranda river drainage in Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-15; Anal soft rays: 15-17; Vertebrae: 34-35. Description: caudal fin rounded to subtruncate in males, rounded in females; longitudinal series of scales 35-37; transverse series of scales 9-10 (Ref. 101435)
Biology:  Inhabits two localities in the Miranda river drainage, both comprising shallow seasonal pools, about 50 cm in the deepest places, with dense aquatic vegetation, in areas highly exposed to sunlight (Ref. 101435).
