Family:  Salangidae (Icefishes or noodlefishes)
Max. size:  7.9 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish; marine, anadromous
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: rivers in Korea and China flowing into the Yellow sea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-15; Anal soft rays: 30-30; Vertebrae: 63-65. Differs from all other Neosalanx by its relatively large size, to 10 cm (versus only to 6.4 cm) and more numerous total vertebrae, 63-65 (versus 59 or less), snout relatively elongate; males with 20-28 anal scales (Ref. 34809).
