Distribution:  Asia and Oceania: Ramu River basin in Papua New Guinea, and northern Papua (formerly Irian Jaya) in New Guinea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-8; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 69-89
Biology:  Occurs usually in relatively fast-flowing, rocky streams in hilly or mountainous terrain.
