Family:  Synbranchidae (Swamp-eels)
Max. size:  22 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Abor Hills, Assam in India.
Diagnosis:  Extremely elongate, relatively short and stubby body, with depth 24-26 times in total length; head conspicuous from rest of body, its length 14-15 times in total length; occipital crest elevated and prominent (Ref. 4832).
Biology:  Found in shallow hill streams, buried in mud (Ref. 4832). The male guards and builds nest or burrow (Ref. 205).
