Family:  Catostomidae (Suckers), subfamily: Catostominae
Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  North America: upper Rio Grande drainage in southern Colorado and New Mexico, USA south through Pacific Slope drainages to Durango and Zacatecas in Mexico.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit rocky pools, runs and riffles of small to medium rivers (Ref. 5723).
IUCN Red List Status: Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
