Max. size:  48 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Tigris-Euphrates basin.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 4-4; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 5-5. Mouth opening transverse, almost straight. Postdorsal distance usually larger than the predorsal: 100-108% of this. Edge of dorsal fin almost straight. Sides with brownish spots irregularly arranged in the upper half of the body.
