Max. size:  15.1 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 7.5 - 8.5; dH range: 7 - 18
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to the north end of Lake Tanganyika.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Solitary adults are usually found over rocks. Feed by scraping rock biocover (Ref. 6770). Females brood their young in the mouth (Ref. 86760).
