Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Lake Maracaibo basin.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Feeds on other fishes and terrestrial insects that fall into the water (Ref. 26543). Considered a good food fish (Ref. 26543).
