Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobionellinae
Max. size:  6 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Mediterranean Sea: western basin, including the Adriatic Sea.
Diagnosis:  Distinguished by having the following characteristics: eyes situated laterally; fully scaled; possess functioning suckers; caudal fins slightly notched; presence of small cteniae on the branchial arches which functions as plankton filters (Ref. 92840).
Biology:  Suprabenthic plankton feeder (Ref. 92840). Max. length (Francesco Costa, pers. comm., 2001).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 19 March 2024 Ref. (130435)
