Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Cyprininae
Max. size:  13.65 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: subterranean rivers in Guilin City, Guangxi, China.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal soft rays: 5-5; Vertebrae: 36-37. Can be distinguished from all other species of the genus Sinocyclocheilus by the following combination of characters: completely scaled body; well developed eyes; last unbranched ray of dorsal fin soft, without serration; 19-20 scale rows above the lateral line and 11-12 below the lateral line; 34-36 scales around caudal peduncle; 8-11 gill rakers; 8-9 pre-dorsal vertebrae (Ref. 76842).
Biology:  Adults occur in caves or subterranean rivers (Ref. 76842).
