Family:  Rivulidae (Rivulines), subfamily: Cynolebiinae
Max. size:  10 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  South America: Argentina.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-21; Anal soft rays: 20-24. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: 5 pelvic-fin rays; 70-85 scales in the longitudinal series; 34 vertebrae; black and white intercalated blotches in the posterior portion of the dorsal fin; white iridescent spots on the basal portion of the anal and caudal fins; brownish-grey to greenish-grey flanks with iridescent whitish spots (Ref. 137523).
Biology:  This species is found in artificial channels 25 cm deep, with substrate composed of clay (Ref. 137523).
