Max. size:  22 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range - 45 m
Distribution:  Southwest Pacific.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 12-12; Anal soft rays: 6-6. Ventral border of preopercle with strong antrorse spines (Ref. 40817).
Biology:  Inhabits rock reef (Ref. 75154).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 13 March 2015 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
