Family:  Trachyrincidae (Armoured grenadiers)
Max. size:  44 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 250 - 980 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Southeast Pacific: northern Peru to central Chile.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Anal spines: 0-0. Snout long, sharply pointed, broad in juveniles becoming narrower and relatively long in adults. Scute-like scales bluntly pointed and denticulate; scales deeply embedded and covered with thick skin, the margins obscure. Row of enlarged scute-like scales along the base of the anal fin does not extend forward of anus. Overall color is grayish.
