Family:  Macrouridae (Grenadiers or rattails)
Max. size:  30 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 421 - 832 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: near Kenya, and from off Ilha do Bazaruto, Mozambique to northwest of St. Helen Bay, South Africa. Also known from northern Madagascar and Walters Shoal.
