Distribution Japan: from southern Hokkaido southward along the Sea of Japan and Pacific coasts of Japan to southern East China Sea and Iyo Nada in the Seto Inland Sea
Quote 24 cm SL; 40-143 m; recorded from sandy-muddy bottoms in 40-60 m depth (off Soma, Fukushima Pref.), 40-75 m (Kii Channel), ca. 140-150 m (off Hamada, Shimane Pref.), ca. 60 m (Seto Inland Sea), 76-143 m (East China Sea); reported the species from 30 to 140 m in the Kii Channel, being especially numerous from deeper than 100 m.
