Marine; bathypelagic; oceanodromous (Ref. 51243); depth range 1500 - ? m (Ref. 6944). Deep-water; 33°N - 49°S
Atlantic, Indian and Pacific: in tropical and subtropical waters. Known from relatively few, widely scattered localities from South Atlantic of off Baja California, Mexico. Eastern Atlantic: 15°45'S, 06°06'W.
