Etymology: Myripristis: Greek, myros, -ou = male of morey eel + Greek, pristis = saw (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Mrs Gildi Greenfield is the author’s wife, of whom he wrote in the etymology that her “… efforts in translating numerous foreign publications have added considerably...” to his revision of the genus. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
