Etymology: Pectenocypris: Greek, pekten = comb, metacarpus + Kypris, other name for Aphrodite, proceeding from Cyprus (Kypris); Greek, kyprinos = carp (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Mrs Edith Korthaus (1923–1987) was a German aquarist and botanist who collected in Tanzania (1973) and in Kalimantan, Indonesia (1978). She was Editor-in-Chief of the magazine Das Aquarium (1972). (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
