Scale rows on back parallel to lateral line. Overall color is silvery pink, darker dorsally; caudal fin yellow, other fins whitish to slightly pink.
Body shape (shape guide): fusiform / normal; Cross section: oval.
Adults occur over rocky bottoms. Marketed fresh.
