Gila ditaenia is nearly identifical to Gila pandora but can be distinguished by smaller (63-75 lateral) scales (Ref. 86798).
Adults inhabit rocky and sandy pools (intermittent during dry season) of creeks and springs (Ref. 5723, 86798). Migratory behaviour is undetermined (Ref. 126106).
