Adults inhabit sandy runs and pools of creeks and small to medium rivers. They occur usually in clear water. Often found near vegetation in the north part of range (Ref. 5723, 10294). Adults feed on filamentous algae and detritus, in addition to the expected small invertebrates (Ref. 10294). Migratory behaviour is undetermined (Ref. 126106).
