Adults inhabit shallow, sandy pools and runs of headwaters, creeks, and small to medium rivers. Often found in extremely shallow and hot (to 37°C) water (Ref. 5723). They consume midge and other insect larvae (Ref. 79012). Not a seasonal killifish. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
