Redescription in Armbruster & al. (2000). Biology: found in shallow riffles, in the main channel; substratum: bedrock with numerous crevices and small patches of gravel and cobble.

Generic characteristics: caudal fin 1, 14, 1; adipose fin replaced by low elongate postdorsal ridge formed by series of raised median unpaired plates contiguous with dorsal procurrent caudal fin spines.
