海 深海魚; 移住性ではない; 深さの範囲 140 - 1945 m (Ref. 2683), usually 300 - 500 m (Ref. 1371). Deep-water; 43°N - 37°S, 98°W - 13°E (Ref. 1371)
Atlantic Ocean: in tropical and warm-temperate waters.

Overall color blackish, upper lateral and leading edge of snout, orbital rims, lower margin of suborbital, lips and gular membrane black.
Body shape (shape guide): elongated; Cross section: circular.
Inhabits warm to temperate waters on the continental slope (Ref. 2683). Feeds on pelagic crustaceans (Ref. 27637).
