Large head without sensory folds. Broad, irregular snout with small epidermal nodules and raised spots. Rim or lid of eyes very narrow and gelatinous. Lips broad and thick; uninterrupted groove behind lower lip, continuous across chin and around corner of mouth. 11 scales between nape and dorsal. Scales rather large with concentric striae.
