Distinguished by the following combination of characters: distinct, horizontal, dash-shaped markings on sides, one to three scales in length, forming four or five irregular rows; distinct, rounded spot on dorsal pectoral-fin base; absence of distinct swelling between urogenital opening and anterior base of anal fin in females.
