Etymology: Pomacentrus: Greek, poma, -atos = cover, operculum + Greek, kentron = sting (Ref. 45335); saksonoi: Named for Anton Saksono.
Eponymy: Anton Saksono is the owner of the Pulau Putri Resort (Seribu Islands, Indonesia), who graciously provided accommodation, boat transport, and logistics assistance, without which the type would not have been collected. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
