背棘 (總數) : 9 - 11; 背的軟條 (總數) : 13 - 14; 臀棘: 1; 臀鰭軟條: 12 - 14; 脊椎骨: 26. Pelvic fins totally united into rounded disk. First dorsal high, greyish; spots and elongate spines absent; when appressed reaching D2 origin. Second dorsal with dusky stripe mesially; whitish spots medial to this stripe. Caudal fin blackish medially. Anal fin translucent, spots and stripes absent (Ref. 35996).
Body shape (shape guide): fusiform / normal.
