Etymology: Acrochordonichthys: Greek, akros = summit, topmost + Greek, chorda = nervous line + Greek, ichthys = fish (Ref. 45335); falcifer: Named for its smooth, recurved pectoral spine.

Asia: known only from the Kinatabangan and Segama river drainages, and possibly from the Kayan River drainage in northeastern Borneo, Malaysia.

Rounded posterior margin of adipose fin. Pectoral spine without serrations (Ref. 37794).
