पृष्ठीय रीढ़ (सम्पूर्ण) : 6; पृष्ठीय सौफट रेज़ (सम्पूर्ण) : 38 - 42; गुदा कांटा: 1; ऐनल सौफट रेज़: 36 - 41; जानवरों की रीड़ का जोड़: 30 - 31. Head and body tan brown; chin with diffused blackish blotch; dorsal surface of head along dorsum to caudal fin dusky brown; midpoint of caudal fin posteriad blackish; other fins translucent. Cycloid scales embedded on head and body, non-imbricated. Eyes rudimentary but distinct, covered by skin. Mouth oblique, with 8 small barbels on underside of chin (small barbels occasionally on juveniles). Pectoral -fin rays free and silk-like (Ref. 45316).
