Etymology: Argentina: Latin, argentus = silver (Ref. 45335); stewarti: Named for Stewart Springer for his numerous contributions to the ichthyology of the tropical western Pacific (Ref. 40914).
Eponymy: Stewart ‘Stew’ Springer (1906–1991). This fish was named after him in recognition of numerous contributions to the ichthyology of the tropical western Atlantic. (See Springer, S) (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
